The protective radiator grille, the exterior mirrors and the Dollytrans insignia on the cab gleam in bright fuchsia. The extras do not end there, as the truck also features additional LEDs. Jennifer Philibert’s 520 hp MAN TGX is a true beauty.
The self-employed haulier from Calvados in northern France did not expect the public to choose her truck as the most beautiful MAN truck in France from the five finalists at the 2024 24 Hours of Le Mans. As the winner, her prize is an MAN voucher worth EUR 2,500.
Pierre Florent Collos and Jean-Baptiste Rouen from MAN Truck & Bus Le Havre played their part in the styling of the MAN TGX. “I really want to thank them for their patience when putting everything together,” adds the truck's owner. Jennifer has been working as a truck driver for 18 years. She founded her own company Dollytrans nine years ago and has been a self-employed haulier ever since. Jennifer only transports freight containers but does so throughout Europe, with her longest trip to date taking in more than 2,300 kilometres and crossing four national borders to Romania. She has a lot to organise and work to do, including a lot of paperwork, and the working days are long. But the freedom as a self-employed haulier and the scores of fantastic prospects at the wheel more than make up for this. For Jennifer, it is simply the best job.
It was not just Jennifer’s MAN on show at Le Mans. The Saint Martinois Transports company based in Corrèze claimed second place in the Lion beauty contest, with a blue and white 580 hp MAN TGX. Transports ICARE from Moselle came in third place. The company showcased a red limited-edition MAN TGX, adorned with LED bumpers, aluminium rims and chrome on the protective radiator grille, to name just a few features. MAN Trucks from AEON Transport and STD took fourth and fifth spots in this year's competition, which is attracting a growing number of participants and spectators every year.
Winning Jennifer thanked the audience for the huge response she received for her MAN TGX: “I want to share my passion for this profession with other drivers and show my love for the road and the truck.”
