Video Turn Assist (VTA)

Every accident avoided is a gain. Thanks to this camera system, the driver can detect pedestrians or cyclists lingering in the blind spot. Unlike conventional blind spot solutions, this turning system reliably distinguishes between moving objects such as pedestrians or cyclists and static objects such as lampposts. The driver is therefore only warned in the event of an actual danger.

Video Turn Assist (VTA) is a standalone system for vehicles that previously did not have such systems. If the vehicle already has a standard turn assist, the Side Camera System (SCS) can easily be retrofitted.

Note

The minimum vehicle equipment required for this: The system detects objects moving at an angle of 0° (parallel to the vehicle and in the direction of travel) and up to about 45° (sideways to the vehicle). It may cause false triggering if repeating structures in the detection area (e.g. construction fences) are misinterpreted or if the semitrailer moves into the detection area when cornering. There must be no structures or the like in the detection area. Please also refer to the notes on camera settings. For vehicles from MY 2020, the Extended IO Module 2 81.25806-7448 with flash option must be installed for vehicle signal tapping.

The Video Turn Assist (VTA) is only suitable for left-hand drive vehicles with the camera mounted on the right-hand side of the vehicle.
