Drive more economically with fuel-saving solutions

The MAN TGX is by your side when it comes to efficiency and economy. Thanks to its fuel-saving engines and innovative technologies, it helps to reduce operating costs and you can increase your company's profitability. The improved aerodynamics with redesigned side panels and new underbody trim saves fuel, and the new D30 PowerLion driveline with the new D30 engine combines power with efficiency, thus contributing to lower costs.

A full load of savings

The aim of our engines for the MAN TGX is clear: more power, less consumption.

If you want to stay ahead, you need a reliable drive system. No distance is too far for MAN to take care of this. In the MAN TGX, powerful and efficient D15, D26, D30 and D38 engines offer greater payload while saving fuel. The new MAN TipMatic 14 generation of gearboxes ensures even more economical driving thanks to its lower weight and software-controlled gearbox for the optimum starting and gearshift strategy. This reduces fuel consumption in long-haul transport with very low average speed decline. Along with other efficiency-enhancing innovations, the MAN TGX allows for further fuel savings up to 4% .

The motto of the MAN D26 is: “There’s still room for more”. It now delivers an extra 20 HP to drive your company forward.

Lighter, smarter, more efficient.

If less is more, we simply shift down a gear. For example, with our MAN TipMatic 14 shift system . This semi-automatic gearbox has fourteen forward and two reverse gears (six more can be optionally unlocked with MAN Now) and offers significant added value compared to equivalent gearboxes with more gears.

MAN D15 engine

Low weight for maximum payload and a simplified SCR exhaust gas aftertreatment system.

MAN D26 engine

Optimised efficiency for the single-stage turbocharger and high power up to 540 HP, while also complying with Euro 6e.

MAN D38 engine

Powerful traction and optimised running characteristics at low fuel consumption.

MAN D30 engine

Maximum efficiency of over 50% and high performance up to 560 HP, while also complying with Euro 6e.

The new D30 PowerLion driveline

Rise to any challenge with a new driveline, the D30 PowerLion. The centrepiece is the new D30 engine with the XPI injection system with common rail technology, which is exclusively used here. The turbocharged engine is available in power ratings of 279 kW (380 HP) to 412 kW (560 HP).

In combination with the new MAN TipMatic 14 generation of gearboxes and all other consumption-reducing properties, fuel savings up to 4 % in comparison with a long-haul semitrailer tractor from model year 2024 are possible.

Cost efficiency thanks to better running

Efficient power transmission and viscous oil even at low temperatures reduce wear and improve fuel utilisation.

Driveline

Drive axle with efficiency-optimised transmission.

The low-friction oil supports low-friction processes.

The MAN 3977 Paragon 5W-20 low-friction engine oil allows for reduced wear and even fuel savings. MAN Genuine Gearbox Oil MOVE 75W-80, in conjunction with the MAN TipMatic 14 gearbox, also reduces wear and increases efficiency.

Improved aerodynamics

In terms of aerodynamics, the MAN TGX is truly a breath of fresh air: Air resistance and consumption levels are noticeably reduced, especially in long-haul transport, and the design not only reduces fuel consumption but also general contamination of the vehicle.

Flexible plastic parts such as the aerodynamically optimised A-pillar cladding, the improved frame trim, the new underbody trim and the door gap closures ensure more favourable airflow around the vehicle and reduce the build-up of turbulence. The optional spoiler-like and reversible extensions on the sideflaps and roof spoiler reduce the clearance between the cab and the semitrailer for even more effective aerodynamics, even in crosswinds.

MAN EfficientCruise with PredictiveDrive: Predictive cruise control.

Using GPS, MAN EfficientCruise with PredictiveDrive scans uphill and downhill gradients and calculates the most efficient driving style.

MAN SimplePay : Contactless payment and cost control

With MAN SimplePay, fuel cards can be digitally stored on the RIO platform for each vehicle. It will soon be possible to make contactless payments for everyday transactions, such as for refuelling, the truck wash, or parking, via the MAN Driver App. Additionally, drivers of MAN trucks will soon be able to pay for refuelling operations digitally via a suitable MAN media system in the vehicle, provided that the truck is fitted with a suitable telematics box.

In the event of a breakdown, the automatic cost approval of €1,500 – 5,000 stored in MAN SimplePay ensures problems will be dealt with quicker. All transaction data are displayed in an automated and vehicle-specific manner in the digital fleet solution. The costs for each vehicle can therefore be viewed easily and potential cost savings can be identified – even for vehicles from other manufacturers.
