The new MAN electric trucks are here: MAN is simplifying your journey towards electrification with its most environmentally friendly and intelligent vehicles to date. In addition to an emission-free driveline and a daily range of up to 800 kilometres, the new generation of MAN eTrucks offer excellent handling and simple operation. What’s more, MAN is opening the door to the future of an intelligently connected e-mobility ecosystem, which supports you with your daily work using digital solutions.
At just 3,750 mm, the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS have the shortest wheelbases among semitrailer tractors on the market – while offering a battery capacity of up to 480 kWh and a high fifth-wheel coupling load. This means that you can combine your eTruck with ISO or special trailers without exceeding the total truck length of 16.50 m. We also have chassis with a wheelbase of 3,750 mm to 5,950 mm – and PTOs are also available.
What really sets the MAN eTGL apart is its compact cab – there is just one step, which means you can climb in and out safely in busy traffic. At 4,500 mm, the wheelbase is designed for optimum manoeuvrability and good weight distribution. In addition, the eTruck boasts a low top edge of frame due to its 17.5-inch tyres.
Low design, high efficiency: With a minimum height of 953 mm, the MAN ultra semitrailer tractor is ideal for semitrailers with an internal height of 3,000 mm and a volume of up to 100 m3. This makes it perfect for just-in-time/just-in-sequence deliveries in the automotive sector, where the maximum use of space is particularly important.
Bespoke battery configuration: Thanks to our intelligent battery box, you can choose between three to six battery packs (four to six for semitrailer tractors) for the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS depending on your individual requirements and specification. Whether you need a greater payload/fifth-wheel coupling load while keeping the procurement costs to a minimum or a higher range, you are in complete control. What’s more, body manufacturers have been included in the development process right from the outset. As a result, aspects such as gaps in the frame for hydraulic supports for front crane applications were considered from an early stage. The MAN eTGL comes with two battery packs as standard.
MAN identified battery development as the key to e-mobility and developed cellular chemistry optimised specifically for commercial vehicle applications. Even battery production remains in-house: The batteries are produced at our MAN site in Nuremberg – meaning you benefit from the Made in Germany quality seal and state-of-the-art battery technology specifically for commercial vehicles with real-world ranges. With a forecasted effective useful life of up to 1.6 million kilometres or up to 13 years (depending on the type of use), the batteries are also extremely long-lasting.
Charge your MAN eTruck in no time: The Combined Charging System (CCS) provides a maximum charging capacity of 375 kW for the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS, or 250 kW for the MAN eTGL, keeping charging times to a minimum. It’s even quicker for the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS with Megawatt Charging System (MCS), which boasts an output of up to 750 kW. On top of this, the four possible charging positions on the vehicle make your life even easier – in line with our motto of ‘Simplifying business’.
To make your step into the world of e-mobility as easy and successful as possible and to ensure you can plan for all eventualities, our 360° e-mobility support service means that we are always right by your side. In addition, our flexible MAN e-mobility service options give you the peace of mind you need, for example with a three-year guarantee on the driveline, repair and maintenance contracts including a tyre service or individual purchase warranties.
What sets the new MAN eTruck generation with the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS apart? Its range. From as early as 2025, a daily range of up to 800 kilometres will be possible with 45-minute breaks and a 480 kWh battery pack. And soon, we could be looking at daily ranges of up to 1,000 kilometres. With the new and manoeuvrable MAN eTGL, an ideal choice for urban distribution transport, you benefit from average daily routes of up to 235 kilometres with a battery capacity up to 160 kWh.

The future of the transportation industry is electric – and digital, of course. That’s why many of the digital services available for conventional trucks can also be used with the new MAN eTrucks. MAN also provides additional digital solutions for its electric trucks, which are tailored to electric vehicles: MAN eManager and MAN SmartRoute.
The digital MAN eManager service enables comprehensive charging management as well as vehicle and battery monitoring for your entire MAN electric truck fleet. The fleet management team is informed directly of low ranges or charging failures. Battery temperatures are monitored and the fleet manager is warned if there is a danger of overheating. The battery charging process is intelligently controlled. The vehicle is brought to the right temperature during the charging process, saving energy during the journey. Two versions of MAN eManager are available:
MAN eManager S
MAN eManager M
MAN SmartRoute – for fleet managers and drivers – simplifies route planning for your new MAN eTruck fleet and supports you with effectively planning top-up charges along the route so that drivers can successfully complete their journeys. The following parameters are considered:
The content shown will be available in full from the MAN eTrucks series launch.
In addition to the services specifically for electric trucks, there are also lots of other digital services that you can use with a MAN eTruck, such as MAN Now, the MAN Driver App or Perform.
An efficient service network is absolutely critical for both conventional trucks and the new MAN electric trucks. To ensure that downtimes for the new eTrucks are kept to a minimum, MAN is preparing its service network for e-mobility technology. We have an ambitious goal for this transformation: By the start of production for the eTrucks, we anticipate that 70% of all MAN’s own service outlets across Europe will be qualified and audited to serve eTrucks. We plan to be completely e-ready by 2028.
With MAN ServiceCare preventive, digital maintenance and repair management, you always have an eye on the maintenance status of your MAN eTruck fleet. In order to reduce workshop visits and downtime, maintenance and vehicle data are transferred from your electric truck to MAN ServiceCare. You can choose between different service packages depending on your individual requirements:

The purchase price of an electric truck is higher than that of a diesel one. However, you always have to put the high up-front costs in perspective, as an electric truck really comes into its own in the long run with significantly lower variable operating costs. This is where the lower energy and service costs, the carbon tax and toll charges, as well as state subsidies play a major role – as you can see with the example in the table below. Depending on your individual circumstances, you can achieve TCO parity with a MAN eTruck in as little as four years.
Plus, MAN is on-hand to offer advice and support on finance options to help with the high initial costs and setting up the internal company infrastructure.

If you use your break times (approx. 45 minutes) wisely for top-up charging, daily ranges of between 600 and 800 kilometres are possible with the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS. Obviously, this requires a battery capacity of 480 kWh, the maximum available on a MAN eTruck. In the future, daily ranges of up to 1,000 kilometres will be possible. The practical MAN eTGL, on the other hand, can cover up to 235 kilometres a day on average with a potential battery capacity of up to 160 kWh.
The new MAN eTruck generation will feature the MAN eTGX, MAN eTGS and MAN eTGL models. Depending on the intended use, you can chose different cabs and primary applications for the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS lines – from refrigerated bodies and platform bodies with loading cranes right through to ultra semitrailers, nearly all known applications can be electrified with the MAN eTrucks. The MAN eTGL is available with a dry-freight box body with or without liftgate depending on your requirements.
There are several options for charging an electric truck. With the Combined Charging System (CCS), you can charge the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS with up to 375 kW and the MAN eTGL with up to 250 kW. There’s also the Megawatt Charging System (MCS), which is connected to the electric truck’s cooling system and supplies up to 750 kW for the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS.
The consumption of a MAN electric truck depends on various factors, such as weather, temperature, payload, topography of the route and type of road (country road, motorway, urban).
With a 480 kWh battery and a charging break of approx. 45 minutes, a MAN eTruck can travel 600 to 800 kilometres per day.
