The new MAN electric trucks are here: MAN is simplifying your route towards electrification with the most environmentally friendly and intelligent vehicles MAN has ever built. Alongside an emission-free driveline and daily ranges of up to 800 kilometres, the new MAN eTruck generation offers excellent driving behaviour and simple operation. The new electric trucks will be out on the road from 2024. MAN has also created the intelligently networked eMobility ecosystem of the future that will provide you with the best possible support in your day-to-day work with digital solutions.
The MAN eTruck offers the shortest wheelbases for semitrailer tractors at 3,750 mm – with a battery capacity of up to 480 kWh and a high fifth-wheel coupling load. This means you can combine your eTruck with ISO or special trailers without exceeding a train length of 16.50 m. We also offer chassis with a wheelbase of 3,750 mm to 5,950 mm – and PTOs are also available.
Low design, high efficiency: With a minimal height of 953 mm, the MAN extreme semitrailer tractor is ideal for semitrailers with an interior height of 3,000 mm and a volume of up to 100 m 3. For example, it is perfect for just-in-time/just-in-sequence deliveries in the automotive sector, where maximum use of space is particularly crucial.
Customer-specific battery configuration: Thanks to our intelligent battery modular kit, you can select three to six battery packs depending on your individual usage specifications (four to six for semitrailer tractors). Whether you want more payload/fifth-wheel coupling load with lower acquisition costs or a higher range – you’re in control. Body manufacturers have also been part of the development process from the start. For example, frame clearance for hydraulic supports for front crane applications was taken into consideration early on.
MAN has recognised the particular importance of battery development as a key technology for eMobility and created cellular chemistry specifically optimised for commercial vehicle applications. And battery production remains in-house too: The batteries are produced in our MAN location in Nuremburg – take advantage of the Made in Germany quality seal and cutting-edge battery technology specifically for commercial vehicles with practical ranges. Thanks to a predicted powerful service life of up to 1.6 million kilometres or up to 15 years – depending on the type of application – the batteries are extremely durable.
Instantly charge your MAN eTruck: The maximum 375 kW charging capacity of the combined charging system (CCS) makes charging times incredibly short. And the megawatt charging system (MCS) is even faster with a capacity of up to 750 kW. Four possible charging positions on the vehicle also make handling easier – in line with our motto ‘Simplifying Business’.
We make your introduction to eMobility as easy, plannable and successful as possible by providing you with comprehensive help in the form of our 360° eMobility consulting. All the digital services available for MAN eTrucks are already part of our standard offer, including MAN eManager. The flexible MAN eMobility service products also offer you vital planning security, including a 3-year warranty for the driveline, service contracts plus tyre service or individual purchase warranties.
The new MAN eTruck is particularly impressive when it comes to range. By 2025, it should be possible to reach daily ranges of up to 800 kilometres with breaks of approx. 45 minutes and a 480 kWh battery pack. And soon we’ll be talking about daily ranges of up to 1,000 kilometres.

There are two scenarios for charging an eTruck: private charging infrastructure at company locations and public charging. In both cases, MAN is working with well-known experts such as ABB, Heliox and SBRS.
They provide charging solutions across Europe, tailored to the respective system. The combined charging system (CCS) charges with up to 375 kW, while the megawatt charging system (MCS) connected to the electric truck’s cooling system supplies up to 750 kW.
You can fully recharge the eTruck if you park it overnight on company premises. If the electric truck needs to cover long distances and rely on public charging solutions, there is a useful tool: MAN SmartRoute makes trip and route planning easy for the new MAN eTruck – as well as increasing trust in the electrical range of the vehicle.

The future of the transport industry is electric – and digital, of course. And that’s why many of the digital services available for conventional trucks are also usable for the new MAN eTrucks. MAN also offers further digital solutions for its electric trucks that are specifically customised for electric vehicles: MAN eManager and MAN SmartRoute.
The digital MAN eManager service enables comprehensive charging management as well as vehicle and battery monitoring for the entire MAN electric truck fleet. Fleet management is notified directly of low range or charging failure. Battery temperatures are monitored and the fleet manager is sent an emergency warning if there is a risk of overheating. Vehicle charging is managed intelligently. Pre-air-conditioning is integrated into the charging process for the vehicle, saving energy during travel. There are two versions of MAN eManager:
MAN eManager S
MAN eManager M
MAN SmartRoute – for fleet managers and drivers – simplifies trip planning for your new MAN eTruck fleet and supports you with optimum planning for recharging while on the move, so that trips can be completed successfully. The following parameters are taken into consideration:
Alongside specific services for electric trucks, many other digital services such as MAN Now, the MAN Driver app or Perform can be used in conjunction with a MAN eTruck.
A powerful service network is a decisive factor both for conventional trucks and the new MAN electric trucks. MAN is updating its function and service structure when it comes to eReadiness so that the new eTrucks have as little downtime as necessary. The schedule for this transformation is ambitious: by the time eTruck production starts, 70% of all MAN’s own service companies across Europe are meant to be eReady – and MAN is aiming for 100% eReadiness by 2028.
With preventive, digital maintenance and repair management from MAN ServiceCare, you always have an eye on the maintenance status of your MAN eTruck fleet. In order to reduce workshop visits and downtime, maintenance and vehicle data are transferred from your electric truck to MAN ServiceCare. Choose from a range of different service packages, depending on your individual requirements:
Unexpected repair costs or vehicle breakdowns are among the risks in the commercial vehicle sector and that applies to electric trucks too. MAN service contracts help to make expenses calculable for you: thanks to a range of services which includes all servicing work and a scope of services that can be extended individually.
MAN service outlets provide professional care for MAN eTrucks across Europe. This means that you are free to devote your full attention to your core business.
Wherever a MAN eTruck is on the road: with the MAN uptime guarantee, MAN ensures the reliable operational readiness of every eTruck fleet. The MAN uptime guarantee for electric trucks ensures that you have flexible mobility in more than 30 European countries. In the event of a technical defect, you can be back on the road again quickly or will be paid compensation for the downtime .

The parts are manufactured in accordance with MAN guidelines and inspected carefully to ensure that they comply with our strict quality standards. They also guarantee maximum reliability and economy. Furthermore, they come with a 2-year warranty that is valid worldwide for MAN service and parts. To keep downtimes as short as possible in the event of damage, a large number of MAN genuine parts are on hand at our service outlets – even for MAN eTrucks.
Buying an electric truck is more expensive than a diesel one. But the high acquisition costs should always be considered in proportion to the fact that electric trucks have far lower variable operating costs in the long term: significant factors here include lower energy and service costs, CO2 control and toll fee classification, as well as state subsidies – as you can see from the example in the table below. Depending on the individual circumstances, it is possible to reach TCO parity for a MAN eTruck in as little as four years.
And of course MAN can offer you advice and assistance with consultations and funding discussions relating to the high acquisition costs and setting up in-house charging infrastructure.

The cost of buying an electric truck is currently higher than for a diesel vehicle. However, this will be offset in the long term by cheaper energy prices (electricity prices). You also save money on toll fees and receive repayments from the new energy levies such as the greenhouse gas reduction quota in Germany (Treibhausgasminderungsquote, THG-Quote). In general, the more mileage, the better.
With the new MAN eTruck generation, intelligent use of breaks (approx. 45 min) for recharging should make it possible to reach daily ranges of between 600 and 800 km. With the maximum possible battery capacity of 480 kWH for the MAN eTruck, of course. In future, daily ranges of up to 1,000 kilometres will be possible.
The new MAN eTruck generation starts with the MAN eTGX and MAN eTGS models. Depending on the purpose of use, you can choose from six different cabs and different focus applications for these two model lines – from refrigeration bodies to platform bodies with loading cranes to extreme semitrailers, almost all current applications can be electrified with the MAN eTrucks.
There are two options for charging an electric truck: The combined charging system (CCS) charges with up to 375 kW, while the megawatt charging system (MCS) connected to the electric truck’s cooling system supplies up to 750 kW.
The consumption of a MAN electric truck depends on many factors such as weather and temperature, payload, topography of the route and road type (country road, motorway, city).
With a 480 kWh battery and a charging break of approx. 45 minutes, a MAN eTruck can cover 600 to 800 kilometres a day.
