MAN BirdView provides you with a 360° bird’s-eye view of the immediate vicinity of your vehicle, including all blind spots.
Four HD cameras with fish-eye lenses mounted on the outside of your vehicle transfer their images to the 7-inch colour screen in the cockpit. Thanks to the comprehensive all-round view of the multi-camera system, you can see other traffic or obstacles, thus minimizing the risk when turning or manoeuvring.
MAN BirdView switches on automatically. The view of the surroundings (front, sides, rear) on your monitor changes depending on the situation. The system takes into account the current speed, activation of an indicator or the gear selection, among other things.
With the optionally available recorder it is also possible to document the images delivered by your MAN BirdView camera, for example for later damage analysis.
Depending on the driving situation, the display on the monitor in the cockpit is updated automatically.
By engaging the reverse gear, the cockpit display splits. In the upper area a mirrored representation of the 2D rear-view camera is displayed. In the lower area the complete vehicle surroundings are shown.
At speeds below 15 km/h, a more detailed view is displayed. This simplifies precise manoeuvring.
At speeds between 15 and 40 km/h, the greatest possible all-round visibility is achieved. A less detailed view is displayed for this purpose. If the truck is faster than 40 km/h, the monitor switches off automatically.
When turning to the left, switching on the turn indicator moves the vehicle view to the upper right-hand corner so that there is a clear view of the left side and of the rear surroundings. Even at speeds above 40 km/h, the display in the cockpit is activated automatically when using the turn indicator and deactivated again after turning.
When turning to the right, switching on the turn indicator moves the vehicle view to the upper left-hand corner so that there is a clear view of the right side and of the rear surroundings. Even at speeds above 40 km/h, the display in the cockpit is activated automatically when using the turn indicator and deactivated again after turning.
