The centrepiece of the MAN TGS convinces with its high level of comfort and shows that it was designed solely with the driver in mind.
MAN SmartSelect
No matter what the terrain, with MAN SmartSelect you can keep control of the infotainment system with ease. The innovative push/turn control knob ensures reliable handling and thanks to its thumb-ball support your hand is always positioned ergonomically.
Displays are arranged at a convenient reading height and the control elements are easy to reach. It is easy to switch between focussing on the road and on the interior of the cockpit.
The interior is presented in a timeless Moon Grey, one of two colour options. Due to its robustness, it is particularly suitable for construction site applications.
The gear shift control of the semi-automatic manual gearbox is located on the right-hand stalk switch. It takes just one move to switch driving program and gear.
The electric parking brake is located close to the gear shift control and the ignition lock. It can be actuated manually and is engaged automatically when the truck is parked. It disengages automatically again when the vehicle moves off.

Finally a workplace which entirely shapes around the driver – and not the other way around.
The entry of the MAN TGS is comfortably positioned in the centre of the doorway. The steps are equipped with non-slip grating and are fit for any off-road application. The bottom step is equipped with an elastic mount that allows for oscillating movements and thus prevents damage.
For that extra bit of freedom of movement, the steering wheel position can be individually adjusted and pushed forward completely into a horizontal position when at standstill.
Our intelligent systems take the strain off the driver and improve convenience and safety.
Convenient time savings: With automatic language recognition via driver card, which can be activated via MAN Now, the truck automatically switches all displays to the driver's language when the card is inserted. This reduces the time it takes to start off if there are frequent driver changes. There are 28 languages available in total.
Traffic accidents under the influence of alcohol are all the more unfortunate, because they absolutely can be avoided. Alcohol Interlock capability enables a test device to be retrofitted to determine the alcohol level in the driver’s breath. This electronically prevents the engine from starting until the driver is capable of driving again.
Early warning of potential damage: Thanks to sensor monitoring, the system immediately detects when the air pressure is not right or the tyres overheat and warns the driver of this. This can help the driver to avoid tyre blow-outs and fires and to increase the operating and driving safety.
Good overall view when reversing and manoeuvring: The standard camera at the rear of the solo truck helps you to see what is happening behind you on the cockpit display. This enables people or objects to be detected and provides a full view of trailers and semitrailers for coupling or hitching.
Coupling made more convenient: Three sensors mounted on the fifth-wheel coupling enable drivers to monitor the hitching and unhitching process from the comfort of their workplace. The connection status is shown in the display, making coupling processes significantly easier for the driver and preventing damage due to incorrect hitching and unhitching.
Does the 60 km/h limit from the roadworks still apply? To help the driver maintain an overview among a sea of road signs, traffic sign recognition detects the signage on the road ahead of the truck via a new video camera on the windshield and shows the currently applicable requirements in the display. If the driver exceeds the permitted speed limit, for example, a warning reminds them of the applicable rules.
Improved ease of use: The central operating menu for all assistance systems in the truck is now available at the push of a button. The intuitive operation and menu navigation means it is now significantly easier to configure assistance systems, particularly if there are frequent driver changes.

MAN SmartSelect, MAN EasyControl, MAN OptiView and pneumatic suspension control: For simple and efficient work processes – even for demanding tasks.
Driving manoeuvres on uneven, soft surfaces. Or precise shunting between construction machinery, crane jibs and stacks of material. Whether construction site or off-road terrain – the precise driving performance of your MAN TGS is not its only asset. The driver also needs an overall view of the route of his truck at all times – both in general and in detail.
Our digital mirror replacement system offers both features and performs much better than conventional external mirrors: The coverage of the vehicle surroundings by the exterior cameras reduces the area previously invisible on the driver’s and co-driver’s side. When shunting and turning, the driver is also provided with expanded display views. Zoom into sections to manoeuvre your vehicle precisely through bottlenecks. With OptiView , the direct view through the side windows is no longer obstructed by mirror arms.
The innovative MAN SmartSelect push/turn control knob provides safe operation of the multimedia system inside the cockpit – even with a rocking cab. The comfortable thumb-ball support ensures an ergonomic hand position and the integrated touchpad with zoom function allows for easy input even on demanding terrain.
The driver can access the main menu via the large bottom rotating ring.
The driver can navigate through sub-menus and select individual elements via the small rotating ring.
The touchpad reacts to numbers or letters traced onto it with the finger and makes navigating through lists even easier.
To avoid having to needlessly spend time and energy getting on and off the vehicle, we have developed MAN EasyControl. Inside the driver's door, there are four control panels which can be easily identified visually and by touch and be comfortably reached from the outside. Depending on the equipment, they are pre-programmed with the most important functions, such as tipping, spotlight control, hazard warning system or PTO, or they can be individually programmed in some cases.
Rear axles with air suspension have long been a standard in long-haul transport. However, the possibilities and benefits of air suspension are now increasingly being used in various other segments. The new electronically controlled VASC (Vehicle Air Suspension Control) is very much part of this trend and now offers an improved and extended range of functions: one example of this is the relievable axle which primarily improves manoeuvrability and helps to reduce wear.
The air suspension control boasts impressive stats, with up to 50% faster lifting and lowering times, as well as a high level of operating convenience. This function not only enables the truck's air suspension to be set remotely or via the multi-function steering wheel, but also that of the trailer/semitrailer.
